Governor Walker Proclaims October as “Careers in Construction Month”

state of wisconsin careers in construction month document

According to the US Department of Labor, the construction industry is growing twice as fast as the average of all other industries. The skilled worker shortage problem is no stranger to our members.

ABC of Wisconsin and “Build Your Future” are working diligently this October to promote careers in construction to Wisconsinites, and have worked with the Governor’s office to get an official proclamation stating that October is Careers in Construction Month.

During October, ABC of Wisconsin members and staff will be visiting an number of high schools throughout the state doing career fairs and class presentations talking about careers in construction and apprenticeships.

Please spend some time this month thanking those who have chosen a career in the trades and encourage them to inspire others to come join this growing trade.
