[Madison, Wisc…] As the economy continues to grow, it is good news for the construction industry in Wisconsin. The not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rate has dropped by 1.4 percentage points year-over-year – from an unemployment rate of 6.8 percent in September 2014 to 5.4 percent in September 2015.
The data, recently released by the Associated Builders and Contractors, shows that Wisconsin’s construction unemployment rate of 5.4 percent is one-tenth of a point below the national average of 5.5 percent.
There is also positive news on the national level. For the first three quarters of the year (Jan. to Sept.) the construction industry added 121,000 seasonally adjusted jobs.
Wisconsin was one of 48 states to see the construction unemployment rate drop from September 2014 to September 2015.
