Construction Inclusion Week focuses on promoting opportunities in the industry and enhancing the experience of all construction professionals.

ABC of Wisconsin and the ABC Construction Inclusion Committee are excited to promote this week by releasing daily content to ensure “Merit Shop is for Everyone.”

Day 1, monday (Oct 13)

The Power of Language Access

In Wisconsin, residents speak over 140 languages, and construction companies that support language access can build a stronger, more diverse workforce while reaching new customers. Providing language support also gives employers a competitive edge in attracting and keeping top talent.

Eugene Krol from K Komfort, Inc. introduces the topic of language access and how construction can benefit from being multi-lingual.

Day 2, Tuesday (Oct 14)

Building the Future by Recruiting Through Workforce Pipelines

Throughout Wisconsin, various community based organizations and job centers are valuable employment pipelines. ABC of Wisconsin has connections to many and are happy to help ABC members connect with these groups.

Elizabeth Roddy, Director of Workforce Outreach at ABC of Wisconsin, introduces the topic of working with different community based organizations and other workforce pipelines.

Bridging the Gap: Generational & Cultural Diversity at Work

Today’s construction workforce includes different generations, genders, races and ethnicities. It is imperative with such diversity that all feel welcome.

Tony Zignego & Jose Rodriguez from Zignego Company introduces the topic of bridging the gaps in construction.

Total Human Health & Mental Wellbeing

When thinking about Construction Inclusion, many times mental health isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but it is important to remember how much mental health is a vital part of a strong, resilient construction industry.

Nicole Frank from Dave Jones introduces the topic of total human health and mental wellbeing for the construction industry.

Beyond Compliance and Towards True Inclusion

In an environment where different state or local construction work have different diversity compliance requirements, it is important to move past the compliance and encourage long-term success for inclusion.

Josh Levy from Husch Blackwell and Leah Kallies from Great Lakes Skilled Trades introduce the topic of balancing diversity requirements with true inclusion.
