ABC of Wisconsin Members Earn National Excellence in Construction Awards

LONG BEACH, California — Two ABC of Wisconsin members earned national honors during the 29th National Excellence in Construction Awards gala at the ABC Convention 2019 in Long Beach, California, last week.

The Stateline Family YMCA by Corporate Contractors, Inc. (CCI).

Corporate Contractors, Inc. (CCI) of Beloit was recognized in the General Contractor Renovation $10 to $100 million category for the Stateline Family YMCA renovation in Beloit.

Holtz Builders, Inc. of Lake Delton was recognized in the General Contractor Community/Public Service category for Camp Gray “The Ark” Gymnasium in Reedsburg.

Both the Stateline Family YMCA and the Camp Gray “The Ark” Gymnasium projects were eligible for national awards after receiving recognition in the ABC of Wisconsin Projects of Distinction Excellence In Construction Awards.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit construction projects. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects were selected from entries submitted from across the nation.

“ABC members and their employees continue to amaze me with their breadth of skills and craftsmanship,” said 2019 ABC National Chair Tony Rader, telecom vice president of National Roofing Partners, Coppell, Texas. “From schools to manufacturing facilities, medical centers and hotels, this year’s variety of Excellence in Construction award-winning projects show not only the exceptional talent in our industry, but the overall commitment to building safely, on time and on budget.”

The members received their Pyramid Awards after being judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost. A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s panel included representatives from the Building Owners and Managers Association International, the Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, the Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America and various construction-related firms nationwide.
